From the inauguration of Basundhara Institute of Social Welfare and Awareness in 2010 so many activities of social awareness and social welfare have been done. In 2010 on the holly festival of Bengal - "Mahalaya" on 7th October new dresses were distributed among 71 children mostly from scheduled caste community at Badkulla in Nadia district. On the same day of inauguration of social work 'Sit & Draw' competition and Recitation competition have also been arranged and prizes have been distributed among the successful competitors. Total cost of that day was borne by the then President Dr. Kabita Dey.
From other activities most important activities are mentioned below:
1. Distribution of Cloths, Garments and Blankets
2. Free Health Check-up Camp
During the period 3 (three) Health check-up Camps have been organized in its registered office campuss in Kasba, Kolkata 700042 for the poor people of surrounding slums. 152 (one hundred fiftytwo) slum- dwellers of the locality got the facility of free Health Check-up Camp.
3. Cultural Competitions
Three (3) Cultural Competitions including 'Sit & Draw', 'Recitation', 'Song' and 'Dance' have been conducted in Kasba, Kolkata 700042 for poor children of the slums to encourage them in the cultural activities.
4. Free Yoga Training Center
A free Yoga Training Center was run by the institute for 5 years in the registered office campus. Total participants in first year were 45 (forty five), in second year were 51 (fifty one), in third year were 38 (thirty eight), in forth year were 39 (thirty nine) and in fifth year were 40 (forty). Since the yoga trainees came from poor family free Tiffin were served to them.
5. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship
During the period Merit-cum-Means Scholarships have been awarded among more than 100 (one hundred) students from H. S level to Post Graduate level specially to the students of Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya, Kolkata 700042 and Rammohon college, Kolkata 700009 Most of those scholarships were given individually by the members in memory of their parents.
Some scholarships were also given by some well wishers.
6. NET/SET Coaching
NET/SET Coaching was conducted by the institution in collaboration with Naba Ballygunhe Mahavidyalaya, Kolkata 700042 for 3 years with a nominal charge mainly for the candidates of Commerce, Bengali and Library Science. During the period of three years total 108 (one hundred eight) candidates have been enrolled. The collaborating college provided infrastructural facilities. This institute arranged other things i.e. provide efficient trainers, arrange training, mock tests and guide the candidates to be successful in the examination. During the period of three years 10 (ten) candidates out of 108 (one hundred eight) have been successful in NET/SET examination. Our success rate was higher the all India average.
7. National Level Seminar
Though the chief organizer of the UGC sponsored National Level Academic Seminars was Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya, Kolkata 700042 yet this institute acted as a collaborator organizer of 4(four) such seminars. Topics of those seminars were:
- 'Relevance of Swami Vivekananda and Today's World'
- 'Micro Finance and Women's Empowerment in India'
- 'Green Marketing and Global Environment- Indian Scenario'
- 'FDI in Multi-Brand Retailing in India- Curse or Boon?'
With the selected research articles of those seminars Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya published ISBN edited books for each seminar. Interested academicians may collect those books from the college.
8. Publication
This institute published a magazine namely 'BISWA' in the year 2018. It was launched by a renowned academician and Ex- Vice Chancellor Dr. Pabitra Sarkar on the birthday of Rabindra Nath Tagore.
9. Donation to West Bengal State Emergency Relief Fund
In April, 2020, at the time of Corona this institute contributed a nominal sum of Rs. 20000 to the West Bengal state Emergency Relief Fund.
